This house is one of two identical houses in Chestnut Hill originally built for two daughters. Constructed in the early 1900's, the house had an undersized kitchen for contemporary standards. Removing the formerly existing mudroom/laundry addition allowed Krieger + Associates to provide a better suited kitchen and mudroom/laundry room for the family of five.

The tray ceiling and clerestory windows provide additional light and ventilation for the new kitchen and breakfast area. A custom made stainless steel pot rack hangs from the darkly stained exposed posts and beams which support the clerestory and break up the height of the space.
