Earlier renovations and subdivision of this carriage house property from its former estate had created a "front" door that faced the back yard. Space was very tight upstairs under the sloping roof, with narrow rooms aligned railroad-style. We created a spacious, light-filled new entry, adding a new, open stairway. Upstairs, we carved out more space with the addition of eight wide dormers, making a full master bath with dressing room possible. A sliding barn door hides an upstairs laundry.
